A CAREGIVER is a qualified specialist in social care who provides customer care and helps people who cannot /are unable to take care of themselves.

Profession contents

The caregiver has to:

  • satisfy people's basic needs,
  • provide patient care and promote self-care,
  • use verbal and non-verbal communication methods,
  • participate in team work,
  • work with individuals and families,
  • do daily housework in the home environment.

The caregiver can:

  • perform care in the home environment,
  • work in childcare facilities,
  • work in social care institutions.
